The Winner!!!! So fast you can't even see him!

Go AmGen!!!!

Dustin's making use of the swag!

Ok. In this front group of riders is Lance Armstrong! You can tell by how many cameras are showing. Go Team Astana!

Woo Woo!! Go Riders Go!

Fun times are always had at the Rose Bowl!

We went Saturday to watch the Peloton race with our friends Sarah, Dustin and Ben. We had fun with them, lots of bike riders, and of course some where in the midst was Lance Armstrong. :)

Dear Oscar Award Presenters:

It's a good idea to practice the names of both the films that you are announcing as well as the nominees.

Just a thought!

Thanks-
Heather

Children's Orchard

Ok...new favorite store. Children's Orchard has quite a few stores in California. They sell lightly used and new baby items that are really inexpensive. During the summer, Children's Orchard in Apple Valley was nice enough to donate a giftcard to one of my mom's at the hospital who needed help. Since then, I keep telling myself that I have to go back to see what I can get for Chomp.

Well, yesterday, Josh and I went to visit our friends Ryan, Rossy and Isabella Ruppe in Lake Forest for Ryan's birthday. There happens to be a Children's Orchard basically around the corner from them. I'm pretty sure that Josh didn't think he'd be excited about this store. But, he's the one who actually found more gems than I did. It was great too because if you spend $35 or more (and it takes a lot of stuff to equal $35) then they give you a $10 giftcard. Pretty great deal! We got some old navy, babygap, children's place clothes for $1.99.....YAY! :) Grandparents, don't worry, we got a variety of sizes, and I guarantee that we did not just finish Chomp's wardrobe :)

Anyway, for those of you with little ones, or about to have a little one, we highly suggest Children's Orchard. Check it out for yourself. .....now, if only they had that elusive Bob stroller ;)

I'm Obsessed

So, I tend to get a little obsessive when I find something that I like. For instance, in college I called every snowboarding shop in the LA Basin looking for pants to match my snowboarding jacket. The only shop that had them was in Manhattan Beach, and at that time I lived in Westwood. It was 5:30pm on a worknight, and I decided that I had to drive to Manhattan Beach right that second to make sure that I got the pants. Note---I didn't know how to get to Manhattan Beach except by going down the 1. So that's what I did. It took 2 hours, but I got the last pair in the county. SUCCESS!!!

Now, I've become obsessed with the BOB Strollers. It's the olympic champion of running strollers, and I have heard nothing but amazing things about it. (Side note: I can't believe that I'm obsessed with a stroller). It can go off-roading. It glides like Kristi Yamaguchi on ice (or DWTS stage). I can pick it up with no problem, where as I struggle with carrying any other stroller, although I am working on arm weight training. And, from what I hear, it will be a comfy ride for little one. However, paying $250-400 for a stroller is ridiculous!

What this obsession means is that I spend lots of time searching Craigslist in every area where someone I love lives-northern and southern california, portland etc. for a cheap version; looking at REI for the next dent n' ding sale; and second hand stores. I WILL FIND IT :) and I will find it for less than it's retail amount. Just you wait!

Overwhelmed by Consumerism....

We are soooo thankful for all of the support that we are getting during this pregnancy. Everyone is very excited and loves this little guy already. We are thankful that we are bringing this baby into the world with such joy from our friends and family.

Our friends and family have been really excited and have been chomping at the bit to start buying Baby Chomp presents. So, we decided that we had put them off long enough, and started looking around Target and Babies R Us for Chomp's needs.

It was incredibly overwhelming! The baby business is BIG business and there are soooo many options and so many opinions. YIKES!!! In fact, Americans spent $5.4 billion on juvenile products in one year. And, a family will spend $6600 in the first year for a new baby. OVERWHELMING.

Luckily, my friend Lindsay Bowersox came to the rescue at exactly the right time. She had her baby Brayden last May, and was great enough to send me the book BABY BARGAINS, along with her recommendations as a "real mom" of what was actually needed for Brayden. SO HELPFUL!!!!!!
So now, we have what we think is at least a working registry of what we will need to help make life easy and fun when Chomp arrives. I'm sure that we will change a few things over the next few months, but it feels really good to have an understanding of what's needed and the best for Chomp.

To those of you who have been patiently waiting for direction, here you go. You are unleashed to love the newest family member. :)

Check out Amazon.com, babiesrus.com, and target.com for our items. Of course, one store didn't have each needed item. So, now we all have options :) Each store has good parts of it and some drawbacks, so enjoy the one that works for you. If the links don't work for some reason, all of the lists are under first name: Heather last name: Stewart Erquiaga.

Love to you!!!

And....Go Steelers!!!
